I got this gig through my homegirl Jesa (who's up in the "Boston Cream" polaroid on the left.) Her boy Lou Armstrong asked me to come up with a design for their upcoming mixtape. He had this idea of a back alley-type setting with police tape, so I rocked that. I wanted to give it a sort of apocalyptic look because of the title "They ignored the warningz". He shot a gigantic amount of photos at me, so that was a little challenging trying to figure out how to get them all on there and still have it somewhat legible. So I came up with film/polaroids/police footage and whatnot to get that all in there. As you can see, these cats are getting some notoriety (that's why people like Slim Thug and Twista are holding some of their joints.) So crazy respect to Boston heads going for theirs.
This is a little different from my normal work, and I know this isn't my normal steez, and not necessarily the type of hip-hop I frequent, but A) this is my homegirl's crew, B) it's client work and C) I have a lot of love for local peeps doing their thing. By the way, my girl Jesa can spit!
Great job man, you did a fantastic job of incorporating a lot of photos in an interesting way while not making it too busy. Love the font selection for the cover as well, for some reason, to me, it adds a bit of your feel to the design.
This is dope, very professional man. You make it look easy, if I tried to pull this off the shit would look mad corny.
